What determines if a man will go bald?

Answered By Hal Quixley

Hair loss or male baldness is determined because of the different factors that may be present to an individual. These factors cause hair loss especially to men where male patterned baldness or alopecia is commonly noted.

One among the factors is the genetic composition of an individual. If his father suffered from male alopecia, it is possible the he can suffer from it as well. But it does not entitle an individual to have it although his father has it.

Another factor is the over production or reduction of the male hormone called testosterone. It is the hormone responsible for developing the identifying characteristics of a man like hair all over the body common to men in earlier age. But as soon as there is uneven production of testosterone, hair loss can occur.

Old age can also be a reason for male baldness. In old age, the two factors are present so the possibility of experiencing hair loss is great.
