How common is male hair loss?
Answered By Hal Quixley
Hair loss is common for men. This is called male patterned baldness or androgenic alopecia. This usually occurs during old age. However, women also experience this type of hair loss problem. There are several causes of androgenic alopecia. They are as follows:
- The genetic composition of a particular individual
- The over production of male hormones called testosterone
- Old age
One may experience male androgenic alopecia if these factors are present. This is why baldness is most common to men.
