What are the most common causes of hair loss in women?
Answered By Hal Quixley
Old age is one of the reasons why women experience hair loss. Some organs in the body may not produce the same amount of hormones like estrogen and this can be a great cause of hair loss in women.
The complete absence of testosterone can also be a cause of hair loss. Even women have testosterone; however, it is normally found in lesser amounts compared to men. It is also responsible for the hair growth. Without it, women can experience hair loss especially during old age where the production of testosterone is decreased.
Genetic make up is also the strongest factor. If one among her parents suffers from it, the cause of her hair loss is probably because of her genetic make up.
Certain treatments such as chemotherapy can cause hair loss as well.
