How much hair loss is considered normal?
Answered By Hal Quixley
Hair loss is normal. It is normal to shed hundreds of hair strands per day. However, if you are shedding hair more than five hundred strands of hair, this is abnormal. This type of hair problem is called alopecia or male patterned baldness for males.
Alopecia is not only experienced by men alone but some women suffer from it as well. If you notice that you are shedding more than a hundred of hair strands per day, you may be one among the may who suffer from Alopecia.
